BIOS DELL Studio 1749
#11
OK , we will fix this now .

try flashing using this bios file :-

http://www.mediafire.com/?dhh65hnpi3azeum

its the original bios file extracted from the exe .

- if the bios was flashed successfully from DOS , then the tools i used built the bios with errors .
- if you still can`t flash from DOS , then my mod is good and i will tell you another method .

It seems it is the tools are the problem. I can't flash it.
Same problem from before.

so , you can`t flash the original bios which i posted in my previous post !!
this don`t mean its tools problem as the phlash16 can`t even flash the original bios .

can you tell me please the version and the date of this bios so i can modify them to be able to flash from windows !
this mod will take just 10 minutes and will upload it here .

Well I tried phlash, phlash16, and ph1614 with no luck.

Date: 3/30/2011
Version: A08

The bios has some problems as the tool can`t build the new mod with modified date ans version .
rename the bios file to bios.wph then
try using phlash16.exe with this command :

phlash16 /s /x /force

and tell me the results for flashing the original bios with this command .

/force is not a parameter of the flash program.
I tried with just /s /x but still have the same problem.

no , force is a known parameter in phlash16.exe and i use it .

BTW , i will try modifying the date and version again and upload the mod here tomorrow .

I tried the /force but that was the only parameter that wouldnt work.
I'll try again.

UPDATE: I think I have a old version of the flash utility. I tried getting another, and it gave me an error while loading the rom.

Can you upload your version of the phlash16?

Alright it seems I had a different version of phlash of what I needed.
I found the correct version. And it worked!
My bios is now modded, I have lots of new sub menus.
I did:
phlash16 /s /x /force bios_n.wph

Here is the version that worked for me:

Thanks a lot for your help
