I'm hoping someone here can unlock my Lenovo G770 BIOS. There are no firmware updates on the website, so I've taken a backup of the BIOS and included it in the link below. More than anything, I want to be able to disable hyperthreading.
BIOS LINK
Thank You,

Oppps sorry, diregard the PM i sent you. I mixed bioses, don't do the platform.ini thing.
Do this.
Rename the ROM file to PIWG1.bin and place it on root of FAT32 formatted pendrive. And flash it by recovery holding FN-B with pendrive inserted and while you press power on on laptop (from powered off state )

From another G770 user
Quote:1. turn off the laptop
2. Unplug the power cord.
3. insert the flash drive
4. press and hold Fn-B key combination
5. while holding Fn-B, plug in the power cord
6. still holding Fn-B, press Power button
the computer will spin up the fan but the screen will remain black. If it finds the appropriate file, it'll beep again, read it in, and will start flashing the BIOS. Once it's completed flashing the BIOS, it will continuously beep, the power button will not respond, neither will any key combinations (Scared me at this point, thought i bricked my motherboard). I unplugged the laptop from the power, pulled the battery to kill the laptop. Once I put the battery back in, I hit the power button and it powered up and ran without issue.

Hi,
may I ask a question - or three?
1. The provided image is version 3.06 with 2.560 kB, the original has 4.224 kB. When I try to flash this provided image InsydeFlashx64.exe says "Error: EC file size input error!" followed by an exit of the program. What is the difference and how can I flash this BIOS version?
2. Fn-B does not work on my laptop - screen stays black, fan runs high, no beep, no action, tried several usb sticks with several image names. How can I solve this?
3. I have already 3.10 running. When trying to flash the BIOS backwards I would probably lose the availability to run my i7-2760QM on it. Furthermore there's an Intel WiFi 6235 laying around here, waiting for installation. I would donate 20$ if someone helps me to get a new 3.10 running on my Lenovo Essential G770 M5392GE with whitelist removal and the capability to run my 2760QM. Could you plase help me with this? Thank you!
Cheers
Otter
