Hi peeps ive been trying to update the marvell firmware for days now. I stumbled upon this forum, ive tried the modded bios and can confirm it works the version has now changed (Ctrl M) also i was allready on 0701 bios after flash all my settings in bios were intact.

My specs: i7 920@ 4.2Ghz 12GB vengeance CAS9 Agility 3 60GB on Marvell sata6
all running fine but i cant see any real speed increases from stock bios. Maybe running RIAD might make a diff. Also gutted that this mobo doesnt have True Sata 6 like it states on the box. Need P67 or Z68 to get full speed out of Agility 3.

88SE9123 is truly SATA 3 but it is not as good as Intel's implementation on P67/Z68. The Marvell controller will have better sequential performance but worse random performance. It's a worse controller for an OS drive and for any other applications requiring random performance, but a better controller for a large-file-oriented storage drive.

Hey Dansolo is their anyway to mod the bios so it boots quicker? Im gona move back to ich10 port cos boot sequence taking longer on Marvell. Also ive noticed the more HD's you install the longer the boot takes. I have 3 x sata HD's and 1 x SSD. Everytime i disconnect 1 HD windows 7 boots a sec quicker. When i jus have SSD in its like lightning fast.

Sorry, can't really help with that one. I have 1 SSD and 5 HDDs in my system and it is quite fast. Not the same board, though.

Hi everyone!
I need serious help here!
I am not a newbie and i already flash and play with this since my 1st AMD Duron 600Mhz :-)

So, i saw this custom BIOS, and i also saw the comment it was working.
I already had the 0701 version.
I used EZFlash 2 and used the customized bios with Marvel and Intel Firmwares from USB

Flash finished and system reboots.
During the 1st boot i received the message: Upgrading ATA firmware.....
5min later: Update finished with success.
20min later nothing else happens.
Numlock was working.. so system was not hanged.

I pressed reset bottom, but keep in mind this was 30min after, and everything was nice.

Now when i boot, the system boots, i see the CPU, memory, he starts detecting the HDD bellow..... and when it changes the screen to go to INTEL.. the screen stays black!! and beep beep beep really fast at this point Sad

So, even that i try to ez flash or enter bios i just cant, because that is only after Intel and Marvel bios shows up Sad

What can i do now? Sad

I am desperated :\

Try clearing your CMOS. If you can get to it, perhaps try to see what happens with EITHER Intel RAID OR Marvell AHCI/RAID enabled - not both at once. Depending on what the default settings for your board are, you may need to disconnect your hard drives in order to keep those OROMs from loading. Doing so should allow you into the BIOS if it's not corrupted.

Yeap! Thats it.
I've removed the eeprom and clean
After CPU and memory it jumps to marvel bios and then go to bios.
However HDDs on Intel are detected.

So i went to try...
Marvel is in AHCI and Intel in RAID...
again same problem! !!!!
Had to clear the CMOS again :\

By the way.. additional question.
I am using a Xeon E5540.
It works on this board :-)

Additional note also... i have a pci-e asus u3s6
I was trying to get a better sata 3 speed for my vertex 3.
This card is not even detected by the board :\

Any was to customize the bios for it?
