GA-EP45-UD3P rev1.1 for 3TB drives
#1
I have a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P rev1.1 bios F10 in need of an updated Intel Matrix Raid oROM 10 or greater so that it will recognize my 3tb drives.

I have attached the latest bios that I have installed and working. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It appears this is the latest BIOS from Gigabyte's web site. I updated all the OROMs to the following:
ICH10R southbridge - v12.6.0.1867
8111C ethernet - rtegrom254.lom
SATA2 chip - jmb362_C_1.07.28
AHCI-pchahci_1.20E

No SLIC was added. I don't have your GA-EP45-UD3P rev1.1 so I can't test it but it should work base on similar updates I've done.

Install the latest Intel RST in your OS if you intend to use RAID, preferably before the BIOS update. Let us know how it turn out.

Thanks for the update on this old MB. I have updated using your BIOS and now the Intel RAID works fine, but the Gigabyte RAID controller won't work in any mode except IDE, any ideas on what might cause this? I had two drives on this controller in RAID 1 but now this is no longer possible.

I created a GSATA RAID1 & tried to re-create your problem. The first thing to come to mind is that after the flash, the GSATA settings in the BIOS did not get set to RAID/IDE but remained at the default IDE setting. I got an error message in the Gigabyte Raid Configurer "GBB36X Raid Device is not found!". Making this change to RAID/IDE may restore your RAID setup.

Word of warning. The JMicron or Gigabyte Raid Configurer software is not as intelligent as it should be. For example, I placed a file in one hard drive and then created a RAID1 which should have duplicated the HD. It created the RAID1 but the files were not seen in my Win7x64. I highly recommend you make a backup from the one drive with the visible files in case you need to recreate the RAID.

Gigabyte's GSATA driver on their website is version 1.17.50.2. Station-Drivers has an update to 1.17.65.11 but I could not install the application. They have the drivers without the application so you can update via the windows device manager.

P45UD3P_R11_IMR12701936_JM10728_RTEG257.rar
has update to the intel OROM and ethernet, no changes to the JMicron OROM. Use Intel RST 12.8.6.1000 for best stability and great performance:
ICH10R southbridge - v12.7.0.1936
8111C ethernet - rtegrom257.lom

P45UD3P_R11_IMR12701936_JM10678_RTEG257.rar
downgraded the JMicron OROM to what was in the F10 bios in case that works better for your situation.

I'm limited to posting no more than 10MB worth of bios' so I delete the attachments from my oldest responses. I'll create another one tonight.

Sorry for the delay. These changes were made:

ICH10R southbridge - v12902006 with the TRIM mod
RTL8111C ethernet - rtegrom260.lom
SATA2 chip - j3_10724.bin
ICHAACHI 1.2 original from a EP45-USB3P
Updated NCPUCODE
