[WORKING] Asus P8Z77-V: NVMe BOOT Support w. Download
#21
Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

My Latest Update: Was finally able to successfully Flash Bios ONLY if using Noxon’s “P8Z77_V_PRO_2104_NVME_MOD.zip” and “PATA SS” now

shows in boot menu.... :-) However, I cannot install Windows 11 to that disk (Crucial P3 500GB M.2 NVME) no matter what settings I change in the

Bios on my P8Z77_V_Pro Mobo. I also did try cleaning and changing the disk types via Diskpart - MBR & GPT but still no joy??  Since others have

successfully gotten this to work - I can only conclude that it’s a Bios setting I’m missing or the Crucial P3 is not compatible?

ANY advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated - As this is driving me crazy!!! LOL

Hello Brownie 12,
I have some old parts from when I used to crypto mine and I decided I want to try and put a PC together with it.
I have the asus p8z77-v LK motherboard, an intel celeron and 4gb ram to match with it.
I also have an older gpu and small m.2 intel optane 32gb drive I want to try using as my main boot drive for windows +1tb Hdd I can use for storage. as of right now the device doesn't have windows or anything on it, i can only boot into the Bios. Im a bit confused by your instructions.

0) Update Intel Management Engine (ME) to Version 8.1 - Downloads on Asus Support Page
1) install the Asus Ai Suite 2 Software
2) start  Asus Update from AISuite
3) select test1.cap
4 ) click next for bios check
5) delete test1.cap and rename test2.cap to test1.cap  (replace bios files, after the software checked validation)
6) click update
7) wait 5 mins until you get a successfull message (if the bar is running quicker than this, flash didnt succeed)
8) reboot, maybe check BIOS Settings for UEFI Boot
9 )Put you NVME SSD in a NGFF / M-Key / M.2 / NVME to PCIE 4x Adapter Card. Put it in the BOTTOM  BLACK PCIEx16 Slot.!!!!!

0) i looked in the bios of the machine im working on, and it already shows 8.1 for intel ME
1) im confused on where im installing the AI suite 2 on? this device doesnt have windows on it... is this entire solution A based on the fact that you are booted into windows and open the asus ai suite 2 program? I thought I needed to flash from bios...also in 2024 its called suite 3 now. not sure if that matters. But if this is the case then I need to get another drive like an old hdd and get windows on it so I can download Asus AI suite ?

and regarding Solution B this mobo doesnt have the asus flashback button so thats not an option.

please let me know your thoughts. thanks
