[REQUEST] Pegatron M2N68-LA/HP Narra3-GL8E: BIOS Unlock
#1
Hi

Im looking for new bios for my computer. Is this the right one?

HP Pavilion Elite m9280.sc-a
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...=c01420100&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=hk&lang=en&product=3715670

Motherboard:

Narra3-GL8E / M2N68-LA
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=sv&dlc=sv&cc=se&docname=c01357135

I have strange loading times. It takes a while starting windows and programs and when entering windows you have to leave the computer loading for a while. I dont have much installed and have controlled everything with ccleaner and comodo firewall. there must be something strange about this. I got hp bios 5.13 and I will remember that my computer became like this when I went from 5.11 but Im not 100% sure. Ive read people having problem with all bios from 5.12 to 5.14 (last one build). (Its not the seagate firmware issue because the support changed hdds to samsung)

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for confirming before flashing, a lot of people have trouble with that concept Big Grin In any event, this is not the board that you have. Your board is actually based off of a retail ASUS board, so we may be able to create a new BIOS for you if you are willing to test, which may solve your issue.

Thanks,

are you running windows 7? run the cpu meter gadget if you are and let us know if its maxing out the cpu or ram. or if the cpu never goes to idle, somthing may be fishy.

A screen shot of the msconfig start up programs may help us also

a screen shot of a Hijackthis log or copy/paste of a hijack this log would be good too

just to make sure there isnt somthing running that shouldnt be.. ccleaner misses a few things .http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/

It feels like Im not using the full potential of this computer. Things take time to start before theyre are loaded into the ram memory. Ive seen computers whit far less hardware power working far better than mine. Ive googled for eternity and found people talking about how bad their bios are and different issues after upgrading.

The pc came with Vista and now Im running XP. I have plans to try win7 instead. Ive looked inte msconfig also, as you said ccleaner dont list all sometimes Smile Im also using adaware and comodo firewall. Im only running the most important things. I have the latest drivers. But no change. If I look in the device manager all 4 cores of the cpu is working.

I tried hijack this. But I got two errormessages about my OP (I think) and after that a very short list on startups and services etc and I know all these programs already :/

Thank you for your concern!

Well we can always see about trying to flash a retail BIOS, but like banana19 says it could be another configuration issue. I would make sure you've exhausted all other options before we try a new BIOS. In the case you do, please open a new thread so people are not confused about the board for this thread.
