GA-EP45-UD3P rev1.6 for 3TB drives
#1
I have a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P rev1.6 bios FE in need of the following:

Intel Matrix RAID oROM 10.6.0.1091

It there are other working updates you are aware of, please feel free to include them.

BTW, after reading through the forum, it's wonderful what everyone contributes.
Smile Thanks[attachment=2412]

Try this:

Intel Matrix RAID 10.6.0.1091
JMicron JMB363 1.07.28
Realtek PXE 2.41

UNTESTED

Attached Files
.zip   P45UD3P2-IMR10.6-JM1.07.28-RPXE2.41.FE.zip (Size: 614.81 KB / Downloads: 51)

Feel free to use/link/host any BIOS I post, no credit necessary. However, this is at your own risk and I take no responsibility. Always keep a backup of a known-good BIOS. Don't flash a motherboard if you don't have a backup computer just in case.

Always use RAID mode. RAIDFix

Thanks. It installed without a hitch.
The new Intel oROM will recognize the full raid capacity. When installing Windows7, The driver needs to be installed by F6. Of course the OS will only install in the first 2TB.

I asked for FE modded instead of using the FFb posted elsewhere in the Forum because I found this version more stable in my system. I let you know if this is still the case.

Also, reading this bios can only be done using any CBROM below 2.00 for some reason. Any idea why?

Different major version numbers of CBROM are for different versions of Award BIOS. Why the higher major version number branches have been abandoned for the 1.x branch, I am not sure. Perhaps they were forks from an old version, but the 1.x branch ended up getting worked on again. I use CBROM32 1.98 for basically every Award BIOS that I modify here.

Hi, i am looking for a BIOS Tweak for the GA-EP45-UD3P Rev. 1.0 ... for the same reason, id like the Intel Controller to support 3TB drives. Is that possible with my board? I am running a mackintosh though, if that matters..

I don't personally have the rev 1.0, just the rev 1.6; however, updating the Intel option ROM for the rev 1.0 bios is pretty straightforward. Submit a request on this board and the senior members can construct a bios that will recognize the full capacity of the 3TB drive which will work with your "hackintosh".

Hi there, I just found this forum/ thread and I think it might be the answer to my burning question.

How to get my GA-EP45-UD3P Rev. 1.6 Bios FE to recognized my new WD 3TB drive. I wish I did a bit more research on this before I purchased, but now I'm stuck with it.

Is it possible to update my bios to support the new 3TB drive? Right now it only shows as 750Gb on boot screen and in Win 7.

This will not be my boot drive, and I also have a RAID currently configured as well as an SSD boot drive.

Thanks for your help on this!

Do not fret. I have had this motherboard since this revision came out and it has been a stable winner. The attached has the updated option ROM and some other updates. I found the Intel RAID drive version 11.6.2.1002 to be more reliable when resuming from sleep than the latest version 11.7.0.1013 but both will work with this BIOS and see the full capacity of your drive. If you are ever so inclined to have your 3TB drive to be the boot drive, you'll need to set the Win 7 boot partition to 2047.9GB since this BIOS is not EFI. I do not have any SSD so I can't vouch for its performance but this bios should work. Installation is from the Gigabyte boot screen after pressing "END" on your keyboard.

Thanks for this gto4ben! Can you point me to some info on how to flash the bios using the file you posted here.

Never mind, I found it at the top of the page! doh!

Hey - just saw this post and seems you are doing the same as me! I have an EP45-UD3R (rev 1.0) and want to connect a 3TB drive. i've tried a couple of modified BIOSes but they only go up to 11.1 of the intel RAID ROM. would love to have a play myself but not sure how to fix the 3TB addressing issue in the ICH10R!

Could anyone be kind enough to up the F12 rom with all the latest option ROMS and 3TB fix please? If anyone has any decent resources for how to do it yourself that would be great too!
