No problem AHMED, good job...I am a 13 yr. network data engineer/UNIX systems admin...and sometimes it is difficult to get the time to work on things you enjoy and it's fun to work with guy's out there like you.(although in this case you did all the work)!

The work is well appreciated however the Throttle option listed is for the CPU and not the GPU so we still can't modify the thermal throttle on the GPU Sad

LVNeptune, your last statement is true and although I am trying to accomplish something different than yourself I have reviewed the thread you listed and I had viewed it previously....I have listened to many people in different threads say...no the problem is the vbios or no it's the bios, or it is a thermal issue etc...and many of them are mistaken...but many of them are on the right track due to observation and practical experience. The UEFI BIOS relates to the system much differently than older BIOS ideology. I may actually sit down and take a close look and pull out the tool box myself.....there is always time constraints but I have reviewed many threads along these lines relating to similar problems.....and companies should give us customers what we pay for ($$$).
LVNeptune, by the way in my last post I should have thanked you for the thread you said I should review. Thanks.

No problem, I must have not read what exactly you were trying to accomplish.

The end result of everyone's testing came down to this:

All current BIOSes newer than A04 are throttling the GPU at a certain temperature.

The 580M vBIOS itself throttles at a higher temperature than the Dell BIOS.

There are two throttles in place but the one imposed by Dell is much more restricting, unfortunately.

I know exactly what you are saying...I had mentioned a throttle issue in a thread on another forum...and some gentlemen (term used loosely) really dropped a bomb on my post...although I had not looked into this situation as closely as yourself....I could see a throttle issue but unaware the cause...everything you have said makes sense! This issue under various conditions causes problems on 3d & none 3d systems.
