im used to reset bios via jumper or cmos battery when using desktop hardware.

Do you know any website giving information about bios features for sandy bridge systems? Couldn't find any information in wikipedia or via google

So you bricked it, which option did you change that prevents POST to appear?

I can guess what option he changed if he bricked it, in the graphics section, if you leave "switchable graphics" ON but change the boot device to PEG, it wont boot. Learned the hard way, but sony were stupid enough to fix it on warranty, lucky me.

Actually, you should probably post that as a warning with these bioses.

Maybe, but removing the cmos battery should solve as all bios setting would be returned to default values and i haven't changed any default in the modded bios.

Its horrible to get to in this laptop, unfortunately. The motherboard is caked in tape and heatsinks etc, and it looked near impossible to take it apart enough to flip the motherboard over (cmos is on the underside, with no access) without voiding your warranty really obviously.

I prized the motherboard up enough pull the battery out with a pair of snipe nose tweezers, but it didn't actually seem to reset the bios, or if it did, the brick caused by my setting change was permanent.

Sorry for delay
I dont bricked it . What a luck ..Smile
i calculated this problem with changing graphics input, its a known problem.
But what is so important for me is to use notebook as intel vt-d host Big Grin because in bios it says vt-d vt-x vt-i is supported Heart but on intel ark site :
http://ark.intel.com/products/52808/Intel-BD82HM65-PCH Huh Angry

they say no when i activate vt-x and vt-i oracle virtual box says its aktivated and hosts starts faster and so on...
but i am afraid bricking it with setting vt-d to enabled Sad
in bios theres a site called somthing like information or systemspecs i dont remember

but important too!!
system works wonderfull since bios update to your modded version thanks camiloml

and i would like to see pictures off an opened vpcsb1 or simular notebook i would be happy to find a destroyed/bricked/broken one on "ebay" Cool

thanks for anything gys we will understand it better some day
and my english will be better too Dodgy

greets morn

I found the old bios 1031H4 with the advance menu unlocked in this forum made by camiloml (btw: thank you very much!!).
But I would really be interested in the new R2048H4 bios version with the advance menu unlocked as Sony seems to have limited the Sata Ports to Sata II with the new bios and I would like to get my old Sata III speed back.
The original bios can be found here
Thanks in advance!

HI, I find that you have got the 1031H4 with the advance menu, could you send me a copy to my e-mail box ? Because i found the source but it have been closed.
ps: borisbsr@hotmail.com
Thank you
