ASRock 775i65G R3.0 bios unlock
#1
Question
I would like to kindly ask, if anyone could take a look at Ami bios for ASRock 775i65G R3.0 mainboard:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/775i65G%2...t=Download&os=BIOS

Direct:
https://mega.co.nz/#!6YdH2Q7I!l7HECJ6GLd...6Fv8cGiXPE
https://www.oboom.com/HUXCUKGB
http://dfiles.eu/files/c42ahg83m

To look, if there are not hidden settings. The bios is kinda spartan and I hope it could have something to be unlocked... or at least I would like that someone with more expertise could take a look and confirm / deny, that there are options to unlock.

Anyone willing to take a look, please? I would like to mod and overclock the board a "bit" :p But changing only FSB is not goinf to cut it... and the voltage chances are IMHO laughable. Please help?

There are no settings to unlock, sorry. If you don't have an unlocked multiplier you can only overclock through FSB. But you can try a pinmod to increase voltage.

Interesting, thanks. And in witch software you opened the bios to check, plese?

For Award bioses I use Modbin, but this Ami bios I only managed to open in MMTool v3.26 ( http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Syst...l#download ), yet there is no showing of the bios menu for possible unlocks, like I did with Modbin...

PS. and how hard work is to disable the check for FSB and if the FSB is over 200MHz, then disable the Performance mode? Because that suxx Smile

Oh, I find that using the AMIBCP 3.51 I can open the bios and look for hidden settings - sadly, there are none:

AMIBCP 3.51 I downloaded there: https://www.sendspace.com/file/ix4toa

...so what other software can mod the bios somehow? For example set the advanced memory timings the hard way? Or update CPU support?

Hello

I got this old motherboard recently to build a fast AGP system. It is a LGA775 platform and uses the Intel 865G chipset with support for many Core 2 processors. When using a 200 Mhz FSB CPU you can select between three different memory ratios (3:2, 5:4, 1:1). However, with a 266 Mhz FSB CPU the ratio is locked to 3:2 (item is greyed out). Changing the FSB in the BIOS does nothing.

This is standard for these types of boards, but I know that the Asus P5PE-VM got a modded BIOS that enables the ratio selection on all CPUs. Also the Asrock ConRoe865PE had modded BIOS that would lock the ratio to either 5:4 or 1:1 so you could choose ratio by flashing the appropriate BIOS.

I tried a BSEL mod to set the 266 FSB CPUs to 200 but it seems the board ignores that, possible just reading the FSB from the detected CPU info. Tried both the tape method and connecting BSEL1 directly to VCC to pull it high.

200 Mhz FSB CPUs tested: E2160, E4700
266 Mhz FSB CPUs tested: E6320, E6500

I hope someone feels up to messing with this old thing.

This is the only BIOS version: Asrock 775i65G R3.0 BIOS P1.00

Here are images from the BIOS (FSB 200 and 266 CPUs):
