Add J2900 support to industrial board
#1
Hi!

We have about 100 industrial boards with J1900 processor
They stand at the box office and gradually die.
Now there are 4 boards in repair.

I found one J1900 and successfully replaced it.
We want to replace the rest with the J2900

I put one processor (J2900 C0 stepping CPUID=30678) on the board, but no 12V initialization
https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/up...idance.pdf

Its microcode is in the originall firmware.

intelmicrocodelist (Bios file from Toshiba Site):

CPUID=30678 Rev=838 2019/04/22 CRC=2FCBB165 Off=850060 Size=CC00 Plat=2,3
CPUID=30673 Rev=322 2014/04/01 CRC=2AA834B0 Off=85D060 Size=CC00 Plat=2,3
CPUID=30672 Rev=216 2013/07/03 CRC=F9E91E8B Off=86A060 Size=12000 Plat=2,3
CPUID=30672 Rev=213 2013/06/13 CRC=04D8D003 Off=87C060 Size=CC00 Plat=1
CPUID=30678 Rev=838 2019/04/22 CRC=2FCBB165 Off=D00060 Size=CC00 Plat=2,3
CPUID=30673 Rev=322 2014/04/01 CRC=2AA834B0 Off=D0D060 Size=CC00 Plat=2,3
CPUID=30672 Rev=216 2013/07/03 CRC=F9E91E8B Off=D1A060 Size=12000 Plat=2,3
CPUID=30672 Rev=213 2013/06/13 CRC=04D8D003 Off=D2C060 Size=CC00 Plat=1

I found a bios with for the board with J2900.

Here's information from intelmicrocodelist (Bios Asrock q2900m):

CPUID=30678 Rev=836 2018/01/10 CRC=B221B0E8 Off=350060 Size=CC00 Plat=2,3
CPUID=30673 Rev=326 2018/01/10 CRC=0A5D3660 Off=35D060 Size=CC00 Plat=2,3
CPUID=30672 Rev=216 2013/07/03 CRC=F9E91E8B Off=36A060 Size=12000 Plat=2,3
CPUID=30672 Rev=213 2013/06/13 CRC=04D8D003 Off=37C060 Size=CC00 Plat=1

As I understand it, I don't need to update the microcodes.

Yes, you are right.

OK. Then I think that's a problem in the ME region.
I want to try to build Bios with a clean ME region (i.e. TXE)
But here are the actual questions.
Data from ME Analyzer
ME Analyzer v1.242.0 r259
XCKT300.bin (1/1)
Family TXE
Version 1.1.0.1113
Release Production
Type Extracted
SKU 1.375MB M/D
TCB Security Version Number 1
Version Control Number 8
Production Ready Yes
OEM Configuration No
Date 2014-04-28
Size 0x153000
Flash Image Tool 1.1.0.1113
Chipset Support BYT
Latest No

I found 2 more boards on which there is a j2900 and a "clean" TXE region on the win-raid site
Size of TXE region from original file 1290240 bytes file
Size of TXE region from Asrock q2900m 2310144 bytes
Size of TXE region from from the site https://www.win-raid.com/ 1388544 bytes
Can I build a BIOS with a different TXE region size?
