Asus A8R32-MVP-Deluxe
#1
Hello All, I have a little older Asus A8R32-MVP-Deluxe with a BIOS ver. 0701, which is the latest from Asus. I have not used this system in a while, and would like to try and install Windows 7 Dell OEM on it. I would really need a modded BIOS to make things right. It there any way that the original BIOS can be modded for this purpose?

Thanks for any help that might be able to be given.

What exactly are you looking for from the BIOS for Windows 7? Also, pelase post a download link.

Thanks,

Helo TheWiz, Thanks for your reply.

Here is the Link for the 0701 BIOS.

What I really need is the BIOS to be modified with the SLIC 2.1 so it is seen as an original Dell OEM instead of the retail version of the A8R32-MVP-Deluxe.

The main issues with Windows 7 is that it does not recogonize the sata hard drives, and needs the sata Silicon and Uli drivers in order for Windows 7 to be installed.

I normally used a floppy disk to install these sata drivers when installing Windows XP, but Windows 7 would not accept them. I finally copied them on a USB flash drive and got them to install.

I was thinking if the BIOS was modded to reflect an original Dell OEM, the issue would be resolved.

Hope this helps, and Thanks for your reply and support.

Here you go , i used Dell 2.1 SLIC + Certificate Included:-

1. Copy and paste ******.XRM-MS certificate file into C-Drive.

2. After pasting this file into C-Drive, go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT. Right click on Command Prompt and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3. When Command Prompt opens, type at the prompt: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\********.xrm-ms and hit the Enter Button. Wait for the Script Host to answer you with a message that the license was installed successfully....this could take a few minutes and so be patient.

4. After receiving the message that the license was installed successfully, type at the command prompt:

slmgr.vbs -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (Replace with any OEM SLP Product Key for your installed version of Windows 7 , they are not hard to find).Be Patient and wait for the message to say that the Product Key was successfully installed. After it says successfully installed, reboot the computer.

5. When you are back at your desktop, go to START - COMPUTER - right click on Computer and choose PROPERTIES and see if it is activated with an OEM product ID.

Hello 1234s282, Thanks for all the effort and time you put into this.

I downloaded the modded BIOS 0701_SLIC.ROM, and tried to flash it with all the AMI Flash utitilies I could locate, and it always gave me an error, and would not flash.

I do appreciate you taking the time to do this.
