Asus M4A77T & Amd Phenom II x2 555BE
#1
Brick
Hy All!

I recently bought an asus m4a77t mobo and a phenom ii x2 555 black edition cpu.

After i finished with the setup, i realized that this cpu is not supported by this board, i read the cpu support list and i discovered that 550 & 560 is also on the list but the 555 is left outSad

It works fine as an 555, but with this board i need to have the ability to ulock 555 into x4 b55 quad processor ( which i tryed & tested out before with a gigbyte mobo, so the cpu must work with all four cores activated)

My bios version is the M4A77T 2301 BIOS

Could somebody help me out with this issue?

best regards, joker1220

Well, this is my problem either:

Phenom IIX2 545 (HDX545WFK2DGI),3.0GHz,80W,rev.C2,SocketAM3,Dual-Core ALL
0309

Phenom IIX2 545( HDX545WFK2DGM),3.0GHz,512KB,rev.C3,80W,SocketAM3 ALL
0309

Phenom IIX2 550 (HDZ550WFK2DGI),3.1GHz,80W,rev.C2,SocketAM3,Dual-Core ALL
0309

Phenom IIX2 550( HDX550WFK2DGM),3.1GHz,512KB,rev.C3,80W,SocketAM3 ALL
0309

Phenom IIX2 560(HDZ560WFK2DGM),3.3GHz,512KB,rev.C3,80W,SocketAM3 ALL
2202

They just left 555 out of the list:S

I heard a rumor that 555 is not a regular model as 550 or 560, 555 is supposed to be QuadCore X4 955 BE; AMD had lots of faulty 4 core cpu from at the beggining of C3 Stepping and they downgraded them for 2 cores and sell them as dual cores. Thats why its not in every cpu support list.

But if the mobo supports x4 955 BE than you also got the support for 555 BE tooSmile

This is the reason why these dual core cpu's can be unloked to quad core with the right mobo & a little good luckWink

I dont know if its true but it might beWink

What do you think?
