Bios Mods v2.0 - Looking to the future! :)
#1
Hello all Bios-Mods.com members,

While I am no longer very active where BIOS Modding is concerned, I still occasionally keep an eye on these forums.

I’ve also been in discussion with the other Administrators - we have been talking for some time around the future of the site and working to address some of the issues that have come up, and I’m pleased to announce that after some extensive testing we appear to have a plan in place! ?

When I set this website up, it was nothing more than an interesting side hobby of mine – I had no idea that it would grow into a forum that now has almost 200,000 members!

The size of the forum has also contributed to the amount of work involved in working out the best approach for the future.

After much planning, we’ve selected a new forum platform and pretty much have worked out how to get all of the existing data migrated across from the existing site to the new one, without losing anything in the process – I have learnt a LOT in the last few months about databases and converting data from one format to another!
The new site will have a new platform, simplified design, mobile responsiveness (the site will scale properly on phones and tablets) and will hopefully run faster – we’re also increasing security and anti-spam measures.

We are also reverting to being a “pure forum” – as opposed to the current mix of a website, a wiki and a forum – The non-forum parts of the website have not been added to / updated in some time and this is part of our overall process to streamline the new forum ?

Thanks for the heads up! The work on this site and all the bios mods is awesome! I'm assuming we watch this thread for the new site details?

Just posting back here to let you know that we (the Admin team) have all been sidetracked by other things, but this is certainly still on the radar and under discussion.

We have not forgotten this community and are working out a plan! Smile
