Hi,
don't know if it's the good place to post this but I couldn't find any better on the forum.
I have a HPE-510pl desktop computer with PEGATRON 2AB6 mobo that contains AMI Bios 7.11.
My setup is kinda slow when opening more tabs in Chrome so I figured that maybe I could add 16 GB to have 32 GB in total.
However there is a problem I wouldn't like to try to solve by trial and error method:
1. Chipset Q77 Express supports up to 32 GB
2. Processor (I7-2600) memory controller supports up to 32 GB
3. Pegatron 2AB6 according to manual explicitly states "up to 16 GB"
It seems to me like that additional capacity is artificially blocked on BIOS level (I'm no expert though, just using logic).
Do you think that it is possible to remove this "lock" or add "something" in BIOS for system to recognize 32 GB ram? Or is it modding beyond regular folks?
I could buy 16GB ram and test it live but in worst case scenario I would have unnecessary 16GB ram that would just be wasted.
