Bricked Acer predator G5-793
#1

After windows 10 update I got bricked laptop. My guess is that it updated bios automaticlly. All other options have been checked and everything is working just fine. I've tried all the methodes I found online to flash a BIOS with USB and combination of keys but nothing worked. Can someone help me and tell me which bios file I have to use, to what I have to rename it and how to start bios recovery. Also my battery is internal I can't unplugged it.

I've resolved an issue by myself. For everyone that will search for the solution of this problem.I've downloaded latest driver version from Acer webpage. At the moment that was 1.14 driver version. After that you have to open downloaded file with winrar, click on exe file inside the exe and then click view. After that extract only the file named MU5DC.bin. Now go to extracted file and rename it. You only have to change extension name from bin to fd. File name must look like this MU5DC.fd
Now on the back of your laptop you have a pin hole to reset your battery. Press that button for with needle for about 5 seconds. Then press and hold fn and esc at the same time put the plug in the laptop and press the power button. After evrything lights you can let fn and esc button. Bios update will start. After about 30 sec or less laptop will just switch off. After that you can turn it on. That's how I got mine to work.

I've resolved an issue by myself. Here's what worked for me if anyone will have the same problem:

- I've downloaded latest driver version from Acer webpage. At the moment that was 1.14 driver version.
- After that you have to open downloaded file with winrar, click on exe file and then click view.
- After that extract only the file named MU5DC.bin.
- Now go to extracted file and rename it. You only have to change extension name from bin to fd. File name must look like this MU5DC.fd
- Now plug USB in your PC
- Format that USB to fat32
- Now copy MU5DC.fd to your USB.
- If your power plug is plugged in your laptop, unplug it.
- After that on the back of your laptop you have a pin hole to reset your battery Press and hold that button with needle for about 5 seconds
(Be sure that you really pressed the button because it can be hard to find)
- Then press and hold fn and esc at the same time
- Put the power plug in the laptop while still holding fn and esc
- Now press the power button.
- After fan spins and led lights on keyboard turn on you can release fn and esc button. Bios update will start
- After about 30 sec or less laptop will just switch off. Your bios update is done.
- After that you can turn it on.

That's how I got mine to work. Do this on your own risk. If you're not sure about what you're doing then it'll be better to contact acer support.
