Changing Splashscreen
#1
Hi, I am new to this and wanted to test it out since I am making a custom PC wall mount for The Gathering 2016 in Norway this easter.

So far I have found out I should make a BMP image at 800x600px with 256 or less colors, and so I did.
I use a mobo called MSI Big Bang Xpower II and I have no clue at all how to change this splashscreen so I tought I should ask you guys here for help Smile

Hi friend!!
Replace msi mainboard logo is not diffcult i think, here is my test msi logo, you can visit it.
http://genius239239.myweb.hinet.net/logo/

Here is logo of Big Bang-XPower II from v28 bios that i extracted.
https://mega.nz/#!3xJliIoT!GAHAlCLgifsg-...skRp4OojVQ

It contain bios file and flash tool i extracted from E7737v28.exe, and two jpg image.
Its format is jpg 1024x768 not a bmp,so i think you need make a same format is better.

These two jpg name mean that module name on the bios,so if you want to replace logo ,you need replace both them.(Using changelogo only can replace module 7bbxxx--xx)

How to replace msi logo??
My approach is,use intel fpt (Flash Programming Tool) to backup my currect bios, then modified logo and flash it again,it's easy.

How to use intel fpt to back up currect bios of your machine.
Please download it at first.
https://mega.nz/#!epozFCRK!sIB7BEIyJUBeK...MOYx-ZQ0AI

It 's fpt tool(as my system is x64,so it's a fptx64),you can see some file and two bat file, run backup.bat can dump
bios to a bios.rom.
After you modified bios, you need rename it to bios_mod.rom then run flash.bat ,it will starting flash bios.
(These two bat file need running run as administrator)

Here is youtube link that it show how to execute bat file.

I wonder where this backup.bat places bios.rom file, I can't find it anywhere on my computer, is it stored in the bios? if so, how do I find it?

Now you can't success to backup bios by intel fpt tool,so we need think another method to solve your question.
Have you update bios version 28 bios success?? I mean running E7737v28.exe to update on windows environment.
If you can
You can modify E7737IMS.280(i give you the first link),it'sa bios file that i extract from E7737v28.exe.
After you modify logo, you upload this mod bios to me,i will repackage it to E7737v28.exe.

The premise is you have succeed update bios by E7737v28.exe,i could help you.

Hi, thank you for your help! I really appreciate it! I updated my BIOS to 2.80 with MSI Live Update 6. I didnt find the file named E7737v28.exe, I searched trough google but found nothing, not in any of the folders or zip files you gave me either.
I didnt really understand how I could modify E7737IMS.280 since I can only open it in notepad++ and there it shows me nothing I could use/understand. So what I have done is made 2 new images and replaced the old ones with theese, same size (in px) and same format. They have the same names as the old ones too.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/8bw7cd...reen-logos.

I understand if you give up on guiding me trough this. This is my first try at understanding BIOS modding and flashing and such. I really appreaciate your help! Smile
