DELL Vostro 500 BIOS for T8300 CPU Support
#1
Hi guys, please help me add support of Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 CPU into DELL Vostro 500 BIOS laptop.

DELL Vostro 500 BIOS direct link - https://downloads.dell.com/bios/500_A03.EXE

Spec of the T8300 direct link - http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_2/Int...8300).html

Attached is the picture of the T8300 CPU.

Thanks!

Please have a look on screenshots attached with currently supported Celeron M 550 CPU and mainboard.
After inserting of T8300 and pressing power on button laptop trying to boot: power led and hdd led are on, CPU cooler is starting, no picture on display - it takes up to 10 seconds, then laptop automatically powered off and trying to boot for the 2nd time with the same behavior as before. After unsuccessful 2nd try the laptop is powered off.

Current BIOS already has support for T8300.
Can you test your T8300 on other system?

According to intelmicrocodelist.exe Dell Vostro 500 BIOS has listed below CPUIDs:

"Intel Microcode List ver0.4a

CPUID=6F4 Rev=28 2006/04/17 CRC=30DD8681 Off=4D921 Size=1000 Plat=0,2,4,5,6,7
CPUID=6F5 Rev=38 2006/07/25 CRC=6333B559 Off=4E921 Size=1000 Plat=7
CPUID=6F9 Rev=83 2006/09/28 CRC=85B7E1DF Off=4F921 Size=1000 Plat=7
CPUID=6FA Rev=92 2007/03/13 CRC=13ED7841 Off=50921 Size=1000 Plat=7
CPUID=6FB Rev=B3 2007/03/14 CRC=54AD9B80 Off=51921 Size=1000 Plat=7
CPUID=6FD Rev=A3 2007/08/13 CRC=89C0D07F Off=52921 Size=1000 Plat=5
CPUID=10661 Rev=33 2007/03/16 CRC=9E99CC48 Off=53921 Size=1000 Plat=7
CPUID=10671 Rev=106 2007/03/29 CRC=80731B2D Off=54921 Size=1000 Plat=7
CPUID=10674 Rev=405 2007/07/20 CRC=735D9FE0 Off=55921 Size=1000 Plat=7
CPUID=10676 Rev=60C 2008/01/19 CRC=FBAC0EED Off=56921 Size=1000 Plat=7

Press any key to exit"

As far as I know CPUID=10676 Rev=60C belongs to Intel Core 2 Duo T8100

Also I tested that particular T8300 on Dell Vostro A860, BIOS direct link https://downloads.dell.com/bios/A860A02.EXE
During start process laptop "think" 3-5 seconds, CPU cooler doesn't run, no any images on display, and then laptop powered off.

CPU and Mainboard tab for Dell Vostro A860 attached.

Output of intelmicrocodelist.exe for Dell Vostro A860 BIOS:

"Intel Microcode List ver0.4a
