Dell latitude xt backlight
#1
Question
Hi All.
Dell latitude xt has two variants with cathode backlight and with led backlight. As far as i understand in bios flashing program from dell are flashing different bios for those with led and those with cathode backlight. The problem is that when my display was broken (and it had cathode backlight) i've replaced it with led backlighted one(could not put my hands on part with cathode backlight) and now it is not working while connected to the ac power supply. Is it possible to force update utility to flash led version of bios? or to fix it any other way?

I assume your laptop has a Phoenix BIOS. Let me know if not. But what you'll want to do is use a "crisis recovery" boot media. Look up "Phoenix crisis recovery" in Google and go from there. I do not know if changing your BIOS will fix your problem or not.

Feel free to use/link/host any BIOS I post, no credit necessary. However, this is at your own risk and I take no responsibility. Always keep a backup of a known-good BIOS. Don't flash a motherboard if you don't have a backup computer just in case.

Always use RAID mode. RAIDFix

it could be a bios issue but it also could be the inverter board. samael when you replaced the screen did it have an inverter with it? or a back light driver circuit? as from a design perspective it would make a lot of sense to keep the mainboard interface the same and just change that part.
