HP Disabled Whitelist Mega Thread!

(01-23-2011, 05:07 PM)nimskid1 Wrote: Hello,

I have a Compaq C500, and want to remove the Wifi list restriction. Here is the basic info as requested:

BIOS: F.25 @ http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...ndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-51158-1

Original Card:
Ven_ID 10EC
Dev_ID 8139
SUBSYS_ID 30A5103C

1- VEN_10EC&DEV_8139&SUBSYS_30A5103C is an ETHERNET card not a wifi adapter! so please give the good information.

2- can you give the exact model of your machine, "Compaq C500" is too generic, because it seems that F.25 is not the latest version.

Hi All, Had to join just to tell you all how nice it is to have an old HP TC1100 with 300mbps wifi. Your BIOS hack worked perfectly and the Atheros AR5008 AR5416 mini card slipped in and booted up @300 with a cheap Rosewill single band router. Lots faster than our 2 Dell D620s with Intel 4965AGN cards - which can't get over 72mbps for some reason. And there's no place in the whole house that it drops off 300 either. Just wonderful. Thanks again. Jim

Hey Guys,

Trying to install an AVERMEDIA (Model#A312AB) Mini-PCIe card in a HP EliteBook 8440p. When I attempt to boot with it installed, I of course get the 105 error "This device isnt supported blah blah blah".

The laptop currently has 68CCU Version F.0B 6/2/2010 BIOS.

Does anyone know of a current hacked bios for this model or could point me in a direction of where to go to get the card working without bios hack/mod? I don't mind hex editing or reflashing bios if need be. Just whatever it takes to get it working.

Thanks,

Adam
