HP MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2) Motherboard Unlocked & Stable for Overclocking!

I been searching for days trying to find the right bios that would suffice but came to various dead ends. I tried HP update but since I had upgraded OS to Windows 7 Ultimate x64 bit and their Bios installer wasn't able to support the OS. I even came on here to try the modded Bios, various sites, and tried other motherboard bios that seem to have the same specs as mines.

I have HP a6130n with:
Motherboard Manufacturer: ECS
Motherboard Name: MCP61PM-HM
HP/Compaq motherboard name: Nettle2-GL8E
Chipset GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

My findings:
1. GeForce6100SM-M (V1.0/1.0A)
2. GeForce6100SM-M2 (V1.0A)

Searched through the ECS Website for all socket AM2 motherboard and analyse the specs that are similar to mines.

and then found 2 threads on here as well:
1. HP MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2) 5.27 With Unlocked Overclocking Options
2. HP MCP61PM-HM (Nettle3) 5.17 With Unlocked Overclocking Options

All of them sorta work but I notice my fan was noisy than before and finally found a solution Big Grin

PROCEED TO THE STEPS BELOW ONLY IF YOU HAVE THAT SPECIFIC MOTHERBOARD STATED ABOVE!!! It should work with MCP61

Steps to flash:
1 USB drive
2. Download attachments below provided.
3. How To Follow these instructions to Flash Your Bios From USB
4. For step 10 in the instructions above, place the bios.bin file attached and paste it into the already formatted usb ready to be used and proceed to load up USB drive from bootup.

Finally, my cpu fans are all quiet and smooth and the bios is pretty stable Big Grin READY TO OVERCLOCK!!! Make sure to buy a better power supply and heatsink or cooling fan too!

Hi annonymous,

Which image did you use and how is it different from the images that we have provided on the official thread? I'm pleased to see you found an image that meets your needs.

Also - do you have a Phenom for testing?

The bios from the ECS website worked but it made my fan a bit noisy.

The bios from the official thread for Nettle2 which the link is dead. The first bios from Nettle3 doesn't match and the other was an ECS which works too but more noise coming from the fan. I thought my fan was gonna blow up lol

I'm glad I did also maybe you can also test it to see how well it might work.

I don't have a Phenom for testing. I was testing it on Athlon 64 x2.

This BIOS can be used on ECS MCP61PM-HM Iris8-GL6? Hp Presario SG3503LA
My PC is running Windows 7 32 bit
Athlon 64 X2 5000+ @2.6 Ghz
2Gb Ram 533Mhz

Thanks annonymous, this BIOS is far superior to the dumbed down BIOS HP provided! Big Grin

For reference my machine is an HP Pavilion Media Center TV m8100n Desktop with system number GC673AA#ABA

I flashed my bios today but now it asks for a bios password, why ? and what is it ? Thanks

Question 
Just flashed my bios and now I cannot boot, just getting beeps, one set of 5, then constant! I haven't searched for a rescue option but if any kind soul can advise while I do, thanks in advance. (My work pc btw! - argh!)

Got past the beeping by removing and replacing the memory but seem to be without video; worried I may have bricked the bios but I'm unsure; would the pc run with a corrupted bios? (Power is on to all devices/fans/drives and no beeps, just no display)....any thoughts gratefully received.

Tried clearing the cmos via jumper with no success, left it overnight. Removed cmos battery which seemed to do the trick (booted with all peripherals removed bar 1 stick of ram and ps/2 keyboard).
Thought I'd stuffed it but luckily just needed some patience and logic. Thanks to the threads here for great guidance.
