Lenovo Z50 70 black screen after changing settings in advanced menu
#1
I flashed a modded bios which removed wifi whitelist and unlocked advanced menus, all was working perfect

Unfortunately I tried to permanently disable the discreet intel GPU by setting primary display to PEG (pci express graphics) but now the laptop won't boot and all I get is a black screen.

Things I have tried:

Booting with the novo button
Removing battery for 60 seconds and pressing power button for 30 seconds

Is there any easy method of resetting bios to defaults?

Thanks in advance

Hello!
This is your big mistake and mistake of another users.
Many users disabled one of GPUs so laptop was bricked after reboot.
There are two ways how to restore settings.
1.Turn on laptop and after 2 sec press key to enter Setup (Esc, F2, F10 and etc.)
Then press F9 (Loading default settings) and F10 (Save changes) , after that laptop must reboot.
2.If first method didnt work so HW SPI Programmer can do this job!
Regards!

Please,do not post requests me in PM.Bios modding is very dangerous work.If i provide you confirmed modded bios, please donate for my dangerous work https://goo.gl/98BgtO.Thank you!

Im pressing the novo button to boot which should take me to the novo menu. Its then down once for bios setup. F9 and then f10. I have done this but unfortunately im still seeing black screen. Can anyone with a lenovo z50 70 confirm the keypresses for me?

I've also tried desoldering the cmos battery for 1 hour but no luck. How long does the cmos take to reset after battery removal?

OK I figured it out, if anyone else needs this:

1. Power on with novo button
2. Press down once and enter for bios setup
3. press FN + F9 to load defaults
4. Press enter to confirm
5. Press FN+F10 to save and reboot
6. Press enter to confirm
7. Laptop should reboot with defaults

the same is my problem. I accidentally chose pci. PC never opened.
I just saw this topic. and I removed the bios battery. I think the pc was brick. It never opens. power and novo button works but no image. and windows do not open in the background. like a pc with no ram installed.
