#1
Hi there
I have a emahines etower 667ix Desktop computer with Cognac 20000731 Motherboard.
I wanted to upgrade this computer and I'm searching for a latest BIOS ( year 2001 ) or BIOS Mod for this machine support Tualatin CPU´s.
It is an i810 chipset and the motherboard supports Intel Pentium and Coppermine processors. I got an modded ( adapter change Tulaltin CPU(FC-PGA2) interface to Coppermine CPU(FC-PGA) interface ) 1300 celeron CPU for this computer and it perfectly fitted into socket.
I tried to run computer it´s boots but when windows start´s it´s give errors and hangs.

Specs :
PC : emahines etower 667ix
Motherboard : Cognac 20000731
Current Processor : Intel celeron 667GHz (I wanted to put intel Celeron 1,3Ghz Tualatin )
RAM : 512mb sdram
Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce 5500 PCI
Storage : 40GB Hard disk

Current BIOS is : Phoenix EPP revision 9.00, date 07/05/00

Here is Tualatin 1300 installed BIOS screen ( Tualatin 1300 does not recognize correctly, names it Pentium Pro ).

Make DOS diskette, download and unzip all files for the modded version of CHECKUP7 to this DOS diskette.
Install your Tualatin CPU.
Boot from this DOS diskette and make a photo of the screen with results.

OK. Now download this file, rename it to PEP.DAT and copy (with replacement) to your DOS diskette.
Boot again from your DOS diskette and make new photo of the screen with results.

Ok, it´s done.
Everything seems to work first, but when the os starts, the computer freezes and only cursor just flashes on a black background.

Why is this happening?
The BIOS still says that CPU is Pentium PRO 1000Mhz Angry Sad   ???

So it's not microcode issue.
Have you suitable hardware programmer to recover BIOS?

Yes I have Nano BIOS programmer but But the da***m BIOS chip is soldered to the motherboard.
Of course, it is possible to remove the chip from the circuit board, but then there is a risk that the motherboard (and the BIOS itself) will be damaged, so the risk is too big I think...
I really appreciate all the help I have received from you. Thank you!
