So recently bought 32gb of the Corsair Vengeance rated @ 3000mhz, the problem is that is the XMP profile speed and this laptop doesn't have any way for me to set an XMP profile. I was curious to see if there is any way the bios can be unlocked so I can manually set DRAM settings? Or if need be just set to XMP or 3000mhz. Thank you!
Also I would like to know if theres anyway the integrated gpu in the 8750H could be disabled SAFELY, from what I've read it holds back the 2070 by a drastic amount.
Yes, you would need unlocked BIOS. Or, I can show you how to set to XMP1 or XMP2 without BIOS mod, via grub using setup_var. Memory voltage can be adjusted this way too, if your current voltage setting is wrong.
Show me image of CPU-z SPD tab, if the 3000Mhz profile isn't there or there is only one XMP section, show me small CPU-z like window of HWINFO64 so we can confirm if there is only one XMP profile. Also show me main CPU-z tab, so I can see your bclk.
Your CPU may not be able to run that high memory speed, so you will be limited to whatever speed your CPU and or chipset's max memory ratio allows.
Disabling one graphics for another is usually not possible on a laptop, some rare ones designed for such you can do this, but without a flash programmer and SOIC8 test clip cable in your hand with backup already made a confirmed to be a good BIOS backup I would not test this as it almost always leads to black screen with no way to recover except via blind flash or flash programmer recovery. And, your BIOS only has Muxless option, so I doubt it would work here anyway, you need Muxed for that usually. Laptops with dual graphics are setup so that the powerful card runs any compute or 3d coding, and the output goes through the onboard CPU GFX out to display or display outputs, so if you disable Intel GFX then no way for the graphics to be fed out to the LCD, this is why changing such options almost always = black screen.
Let me know on the memory, if you want to try to unlock your BIOS / mod BIOS, or you want to simply change the memory setting from default profile to XMP.

Ok so no disabling the iGPU haha I don't want to take a risk then have a headache to try and fix it. It's up to you really, I can follow your instructions for grub, but my only question is... If I can push the ram further and change timings and whatnot with an unlocked bios would that not be a better diverse option? Also I just noticed my bios is version 303, windows did an auto update at some point however ASUS does not have this version on their website. How would that affect unlocking the bios? Also I have included the screenshots you requested. Seems I only have 1 XMP profile.

You're welcome! Some people would rather not flash a mod BIOS, or may not be able to do everything needed to accomplish flashing a mod BIOS etc.
So that is why I offered you the other possibility to make the changes. BIOS version change does not matter, I'll have you dump current BIOS region contents to modify anyway.
Thanks for the images - Vikings rule!!
I forgot to ask, please show me CPU-z memory tab too, so I can see current memory speed/multi.
Did you check with HWINFO64 too, it may show an additional XMP that CPU-z might not. It will be visible on the little CPU-z like window, on the right side near middle bottom.
So, sounds like you want to go with unlocked BIOS? If yes, Check BIOS main page and see if ME FW version is shown, if not then download HWINFO64 and on the large window on left side, expand motherboard and find ME area, inside that get the ME Firmware version.
Once you have that, go to this thread and in the section "C" download the matching ME System Tools Package (ie if ME FW version = 10.x get V10 package, if 9.0-9.1 get V9.1 package, if 9.5 or above get V9.5 package etc)
https://www.win-raid.com/t596f39-Intel-Management-Engine-Drivers-Firmware-amp-System-Tools.html
Once downloaded, inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, and inside that a Windows or Win/Win32 folder. Select that Win folder, hold shift and press right click, choose open command window here (Not power shell).
At the command prompt type the following command and send me the created file to modify >> FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin
Right after you do that, try to write back the BIOS Region dump and see if you get any error, if you do show me image of the command entered and the error give >> FPTw.exe -bios -f biosreg.bin

Thank you again for the quick reply. I love that show, I am of Swedish descent so I have Viking blood in my veins!
I am not sure what you mean by "try to write back the BIOS Region dump and see if you get any error". I dumped the bios to biosreg.bin without any issues and have the file here. Also the screenshots you requested.
Awesome you're descendant of real Vikings!! Since Ragnar is gone, my favorite now is Floki, although I've really liked his style all along too.
I gave instructions on how to write back the BIOS region above, directly below where I showed you how to create the dump. Check it out, then do that and send me image if any error.
On the HWINFO image, that is a LOT of profiles in your memory, take another and scroll that down (unless all below the current ones are less than the 933.3 shown at the bottom. Looks like all are XMP too, but surely that can't be right. Close small window, then check in large window, memory >> row 0 module (where you were already at in the image), then scroll down until you start seeing XMP profiles (how many do you see, and what speed is each)
You're running at 2660MHz right now, so not too far off from 3000Mhz, however CAS 18 and 2T is slacking for that speed and this kits XMP profiles

I'm not sure what you mean about getting errors still... Do you mean type that same command in? If thats the case I did that without any errors, it just asked me to overwrite the previous bios. Also I have included the 4 screen shots of the row 0 module you have requested. I love Floki, he is a true Viking and loyal to his people and their ways. Ragnar is absolutely my favorite, but I really like Ivar as well. He's a little twisted, but a mastermind in the art of war.
My apologies I reread your directions and finally understood, I didn't notice the change of -d to -f in the checking command. I did get an error and here is the screenshot of it.
Sorry I didn't make that more clear! Yes, I need to see error so I can tell you how to get around it if possible, before I send you back mod BIOS
So, error 167 is a pain, sometimes. Usually I can get variables for you to unlock this via grub and setup_var, but your BIOS the setup module I can't get valid IFR output from to see all the setting variables I even checked the other old BIOS too, sometimes this happens, I don't know if it's due to some error with the IFR tools, or Asus blocks it somehow but it's very rare when this happens so I think maybe some error causes it.
First, lets see if the easy way can get you around it (a BIOS bug). Put the system to sleep (S3) for one minute, then wake it up and try the FPT flash again, do you get same error or flash successful now?
If not, then you may need flash programmer, unless you can find other thread here or in google that mentions which AFU version allows flashing mod BIOS onto this model. Or, I can send you one simple test mod BIOS to try flashing using this method, download the files in this guide, but then only pay attention to last spoiler for flashing method. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/592...herboards/
Let me know outcome of S3 sleep test, if it fails too, then I will send you mod BIOS with one updated CPU microcode and you can try above method to see if it will let you flash or not.
IVAR!!!! I have a feeling someone is going to kill him soon as crazy as he's been acting
I worry Floki might do something and get killed too, or commit suicide or something, he's getting bad end of the stick lately

Thank you Feluchi!!! How do you get it from files like this when that happens? I tried many ways, extracting module different, using MMTool or UEFITool etc. I can't give you rep, it's still broken (magically I made it work today!!!) I really appreciate it, hope you can tell me how you get it, I run into this issue sometimes, it's rare but it does happen from time to time
RocoCoco90 - Before trying below, try the sleep bug I mentioned - put system to S3 sleep for one minute, then wake it up and try the FPT flash again, if it fails then carry on with below.
Here is guide I made, you can start at step 6 because I've gathered the variables you need to edit for you already
https://www.win-raid.com/t3908f16-GUIDE-Grub-Setup-Var-Guide-Fix-Intel-FPT-Error-BIOS-Lock-Bit-Set-HSFS-W-Asus-or-Other-Mod-BIOS.html
Rename your .efi file to >> Shell.efi
You need to change the following variables.
BIOS Lock >> 0xB47
Flash Protection Range Registers (FPRR) >> 0x1201
So, at grub prompt, you will enter the following one at a time.
setup_var 0xB47 0x0
setup_var 0x1201 0x0
Then reboot and try FPT flash again.
If this fails and you still get error 167, then let me know I will send you simple edit so you can test the method I linked in post #10 at linustechtips
