[Request] Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 460 R05ET71W - Wifi Whitelist
#1
Hello Bios moder!

I'd like to have the whitelist setting of my PHOENIX BIOS/UEFI (Ver. R05ET71W (1.49) ) for Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 460 removed:

Laptop:                       Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 460
WiFi Card inst.:          Intel Dual-Band AC 8260NGW (whitelisted)
WiFi-PCIe-ID:           PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24F3&SUBSYS_11308086&REV_3A
BIOS ver.:                 1.49
BIOS-RSA:                not RSA signed**
BIOS Manuf. site :    [ Page | DL ]
BIOS-Backup:           [       DL      ]
** as far as I am concerned, lmk how to check if you have doubts for this model.

  • I understood that I will have to use a EEPROM programming tool such as [ LINK ], is this still appropriate/working?
  • Is it correct that the whitelist will be disabled for any PCIe component(or only WiFI/WWAN)? I plan to use an eGPU on the M.2 socket.
Thanks in advance!

Best,
Philipp

// Update

I received a private message:

Quote:Hi
new TPM (security) chip...bios cannot be modified in any way.**
** Since the user sent a private message, I assume he doesn't want to be mentioned.

Can someone confirm that system's BIOS/UEFI with a TPM chip onboard can't be modified?

I have TPM (security chip) disabled in my BIOS settings and it shows as deactivated in the device manager.
What about reflashing it, if it is bricked. Here [ LINK ] it is stated, that bricked bios can always be recovered by reflashing the backup.

Any help is highly appreciated. Please help me! Smile
