Request for whitelist removal - HP Pavilion DV7-6031eo
#1
Hi, I would like some help with removing the whitelist on my computer, or alternatively just allowing the new wifi card to be installed.

Original card:
Broadcom 4313

New card:
Intel Ultimate-N 6300

Bios download link:

No way to unpack (al least for me) that bios, try flashing original and then extract by This utility

I think you can extract backup too with insydeflash tool.

Sorry.

I have tried to do it, you can download in the link present in my signature.

Remember, download and flash (if it's possible at all) at your own risk.

I added FLASHIT to try to flash from bootable DOS pendrive. Maybe from windows using InsydeFlash and a custom .ini will do the trick. This is unexplored territory for me, flashing back that extracted bios.

Thanks Camiloml.

I'm not exactly sure of what I'm doing here in trying to flash it, and I don't want to flash without being absolutely (Or at least, as much as possible) sure that it won't brick it. Is there any way you could help me, either with helping me to set up the custom insydeflash or in any other way? I'll donate 5$ if I can get this working properly, as it's very annoying for me Angry

Well, absolutely sure regarding modded bios.... you can't be. Even more if you're the first requester for a concrete mod.

I don't have that computer so i cannot make flash tests for you. what would i do if i were you?

1º Try flashing by Win+B key on power up using a formatted usb pendrive with the bios renamed to 01649.bin (don't remember now the exact name)
2º Try bootable pendrive to flash from DOS using FLASHIT
3º Get latest InsydeFlash utility and try to read the platform.ini comments to make it fit my desires in flashing the modded bios.

Hi everyone,

If you are having problems flashing, please use the "FlashIT" utility to flash your BIOS with a bootables USB key in DOS. (See our tutorials for creating the USB)

Thanks,

Thanks for the help.

I've tried flashit with a bootable USB, but it just gives the error "Bios did not support this type of flash". I tried both with the one TheWiz uploaded and the one you gave me with my modded bios camiloml. I'm going to be trying the Win + B now, and then see if I can figure out the insydeflashand edited platform.ini.

Do this, unpack original bios installer and modify insydeflash platform.ini to take a backup of your installed bios, and upload to me to have a look, please. You'll figure out in half a minute which flag to change in the ini.
