Dear all,
I kindly ask for your support on removing the whitelist for my laptop:
- HP Pavillion DM3-1120eg.
- Insyde Bios F.19; HP file "SP51603"; 2MB bios file; Mainboard 142E
-->Link to BIOS is below under references
SITUATION:
----------------
Until now, I followed two guides - but don't find the right place to remove the whitelist.
Guides used:
1) Donovan6000 blog
2) kbhaze's method
PROBLEM:
------------------
My limitation is, that I don't have access to a full IDA Pro release that supports x64 decompiling for my machine.
And in a HEX editor, I don't find the jump condition to disable the whitelist.
->Donovan writes about an JNZ jump that Donovan with "0F 85 9A 00 00 00".
->kbhaze writes that in 2MB bios files, JNZ is not used anymore, but an JS jump with "0F 88"
I found the "0F 88" in the PCIeblock module (or similar name), changed it to "0F 89" (as kbhaze writes; in order to switch the conditions), flashed it - but it does not show any effect. The original card still works (supposed to be deactived) - the new one (AC7260) still leads to "104.." error message.
The JNZ jump "0F 85" is not in that module...
QUESTIONS:
--------------
1. Could you give me advice how to solve it? ANY ADVICE GREATLY APPRECIATED
2. If someone could upload his already modded BIOS, this would be perfect after all
The only link to the exact model is down...
3. Can I use the "Online Dissambler" for this task? If yes, what are the settings for z80 on an win7 intel x64 machine - http://www.onlinedisassembler.com/odaweb/
Thanks
