Thank you @brittyazel. Can you please tell me if u can set the mb/gb of ram for the iGPU with the unlocked BIOS?

No it is based off the total ram. 256Mb get allocated for each 4 gigs you have, up to a total of 500Mb

Mmmmm.. So 16gb = 1gb for the iGPU? mmm.. sound good..

I am not sure if the board can support 16gb. The original specs of the laptop had a max support of 8gb I think, though I am not sure if that limit is due to to the A8 processor. You might want to check on that

Just thought I would give an Update. The Bios mod went successfully. Now its just a matter of figuring out what all these settings mean. It absolutely Blew my mind the amount of things that are hidden and locked away. And to think that some of the options are potentially the differences between "models".

Hi I'm having an odd problem with a modded BIOS on the v3-551g. To be honest it was flashed a year ago and I'm not sure if it's one from this forum or elsewhere.

It flashed correctly and runs Linux fine, but windows bluescreens on boot due to the BIOS not being "ACPI compliant" and it seems I cannot modify any settings in the BIOS to skip this check.  I am on linux now, so I cannot run the Acer provided EXE to flash the BIOS to a standard BIOS. Extracting the EXE still does not expose the raw BIOS image. So i've modded myself into a corner. Hiren's Mini XP also does not load, I can skip the ACPI compliance check by hitting f7 during init, but it hangs on boot due to some other issue that i can't resolve.

So in short, I need either, a modded BIOS that I can flash from linux that allows me to bypass windows ACPI checks, or just a standard acer BIOS image in a way that I can manually flash it from Linux. I have read that you can wrap it up into an image and then boot into that image from linux in order to flash it, but any help with that would be appreciated as well.

Thanks for any help.
