I looked at this 1406 BIOS you said you modded and it doesn't show any 2010 dates for the microcodes. The free space (CBROM195 /D) shows identical as for the stock 1406 BIOS. Can you explain?

Thanks!

Hello,
Great board! I've been thinking about doing this mod off and on for about a year and finally pulled the plug with an x5450 on a P5N-E SLI. System boots no problem but boot stops to say I need to upgrade bios "to unleash the full power of this processor". I hit the F1 key and WIN 7 boots no problems. Temps are showing on the high side with CPUID HW Monitor. I tried flashing the modified bios 1406 here, but get an error message in EZ flash saying the flash file is bigger than the current one. I don't see a way to proceed from here. USB drive is formatted to FAT 32, but is a 16gb drive. Is this the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Are you using the standard Award Bios V6 build 1406? I have the same set up and get a message on boot saying I need an update.
