hp bios

Hi all i have a hp p6032uk comp its my sons and he has done something to it some1 has told me he messed up the bios i have removed the bat and held power button for 30 secs then put it back in and rebooted i get the startup screen then it gets stuck on detecting hardware something like that i then turn it off and restart it and its just blank so i have to then take batt out again to reset everything now ive downloaded what i believe is the right bios when i unzip it its a VLE5.22 file i put it on a usb stick and try and hold the win key and b but im having no luck what so ever ive also disconnected the hdd and the dvd drive and all other wires to make sure it was just running barebones please could i get some help many thanks in advance

Hello gazzac72,

You said you removed the "battery." Which battery did you remove? Did you remove the laptop battery or the CMOS battery? The CMOS battery is inside the computer. You will need to remove this to reset the BIOS settings.

When removing the CMOS battery, please follow these instructions:

• Remove the CMOS battery for 3-5 minutes
• While the CMOS battery, power adapter, and laptop battery are removed, press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds to dissipate any remaining power.

Sml6397 ty for your reply sorry i should of said its a desktop i removed the cmos bat and done the things you said but to no avail the vle5.22 file i got didnt work so i renamed it vle5.bin i put the 1 file onto a fat32 usb stick put it into left usb stick and booted comp it then tries to flash but fails then says restoring old bios and restarting can not seem to get further than that sometimes it lets me into f10 but thats about it i even tried the win+b while booting i notice people say it should beep i dont get any of this ive been reading all kinds of posts for 2 days now hence why i joined here and made a post and speak to someone tht knows what they are doing
