Dear BIOS Mods users,
I've got an HP G62-B06ED laptop (HP Core i3), on the HP website I saw that 'SP55430.exe' is the latest bios for my laptop, I found an equivalent unlocked bios on this website (sp55430_UlkMenus_ByCamiloml.exe) so i decided to use the unlocked equivalent so I could:
- Switch beteen AHCI and IDE
- Use any WiFi PCIe device instead of the whitelisted (I would like to switch to Intel 6300 instead of the factory installed RaLink)
The upgrade seemed to work fine (ID and version of current and 'new' looked the same and 'compatible').
But after the flash the system rebooted and never started anymore (once in a while the caps lock led is blinking twice, which is according to the HP site related to 'BIOS corruption'.
I tried several things to restore the old or a new (HP supplied) BIOS, using [WIN] + [B], USB sticks, renaming files on the stick, disconnecting CMOS battery, etc. etc. but I don't get it done.
I'm not sure if I can apply for warranty (both age and the fact that I flashed this 'modded' BIOS).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Kasper
