Hello i've been browsing these forums for a while now attempting to upgrade an oldish PC that i've obtained, and i was just wondering if someone here could help with my odd circumstance.
I recently upgraded my cpu to an AMD Phenom II x4 945, but my bios doesn't recognize it. My computer still boots and runs the processor at it's default max of 3 ghz but i really want to overclock.
I have a (Gateway) Bengal RS780 (7B3G1P04) mobo and my attempts to update the bios to have upgraded cpu support / the ability to overclock have so far been futile.
I've actually tried using this: http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Ga...del-GT5676
Seeing as how that is the exact system/mobo model i'm upgrading i thought it would work no problem, but when i restart it gives me the "CMOS bad checksum" error and then when i load from defaults it seems as if nothing in the bios has changed whatsoever...
If someone could please help me i would be eternally grateful!
