I have this Asus R500VM-MS71 its about two months old, when i opened the box it was locking up and crashing. So i deleted all all partitions and reinstalled Windows 7 Pro.
At that I didnt know about UEFI or GPT Partitions, so installed the OS MBR. After reading and researching what GPT and UEFI was, I decided to redo the installation again formatting the partitions using the GPT method booting into UEFI, creating the partitions in the new OS, which is slic 2.1 and valid.
Here is my problem: the bluetooth doesnt work, doesnt show in the device manager, or in the bios, no way to toggle.
I let the Asus website identify my model of laptop, and it showed up as K55VM, which is what my label on the back of the machine says.
I update the bios, no blutetooth.
I contact support, he says my unit is an R500VM, that works because the drivers for the R500Vm are same as the K55VM. It takes 2 weeks of emails to get nowhere.
But.
There is an update to the bios on R500VM download page that he says is mine but its for a K45VM. It gets nowhere, winflash just spits it back and i still have the bios with not much in the way of choices.
Sorry about the long explanation, i think the backround is important.
Here is the question. the k45vm is the same mainboard, same drivers, same stuff inside, except for an option for a different USB3, but my usb3 is in the driver downloads.
same hardware, same board, bios looks way different using MMTOOL.
Can I use this bios for the K45Vm in my machine? Or Can someone fix my bios?
THE BLUETOOTH IS DIFFERENT. Can that be switched?
I have attached reports from both bios's for someone to compare.
Thank you. Somebody please advise
