Hello !
I have to say that I have never modded a BIOS before (just tweak settings)... I've just repaired a Sony VAIO VGN-S2VP and
- replaced the HDD by a SSD,
- undervolted the CPU
- lowered the fan speed (with a simple resistance ^^)
Apparently, from strings available in the BIOS (using Phoenix BIOS Editor), it may be possible to :
- define the minimum/maximum VID (useful to undervolt under linux ^^, and avoid using Notebook Hardware Control under windows)
- access memory timings (since apparently, they run 2.5/2/2/5 instead of 2.5/3/3/7).
The original BIOS (R0072G4) on the sony website is located here (uncompress the file with 7zip)
Can somebody help me to unlock this BIOS and get additional settings (Voltages, timings, FAN speed Vs temperature...) ? (A tutorial is welcome of course, if any ^^).
