Thanks for being brave and testing! Seems other area needs edited then if windows still only shows 128MB, since that is the one I changed to 512MB. Go ahead and flash back to other BIOS, in case this cause issues sometime, don't want to loose data in the middle of you writing soemthign important. I will look at the BIOS more tonight and next few days and see if I can figure out what to change since this appears to only be the setting choice not actual data selected.

Unless maybe, the BIOS itself is limited due to vBIOS rules/programmer or something like that, I'll try to look in and see

Before you flash back. Please test 512MB on top and 256 on bottom, see if that changes anything in windows. What did it used to show in windows when you set 256MB on bottom? Is that same now with 512MB on top setting and 256MB on bottom setting

so upon further examination, I think just the labels in bios changed, not the actual values.
my option for setting minimal values are now: 32mb, 64mb and 512mb
for maximal: 512mb and 256mb

So i think that just changing labels from 128mb to 512mb doesn't change anything.
in fact, when i set to a lower value, 64mb, it showed it in OS in driver settings
I think that a new positions with some proper values should be added. and probably just as you said, another part of the bios would have to be edited

Yes, that's what I was thinking too after your brief check. That is how I set them, how you described, since I edited 128MB values the 128 above 256 was changed to 512 instead of going below it.

That was not my intention to change the labels only, don't think that! If I thought it was that easy I could have done that a week ago in a few seconds with no tools required, that is simple change My efforts were on changing the value itself, the labels auto updated, that's why the 512 is above 256 on bottom, if I wanted to change labels only that would be too easy and I know would fail, I wouldn't waste my time with that

I am editing correct module of BIOS I believe, but other instructions need adjusted I think. I'll work on it and see if I can figure it out.

They specialize in drivers there mainly, but there are some BIOS coders and BIOS tool makers too, like here but less BIOS specialist there compared to here. I'm betting someone here could help us with this instantly, but I don't know who all can do this type of edit since I'm new here, so I don't know who to PM/ask here.

Still looking into this for you! Please test this and tell me if it allows you to use that max amount you previously mentioned (only as a test, then if later we can't solve for you then you can use this method as last resort)

Click Start> in "Run" type (msconfig) without brackets and press Enter
Click Boot tab> Click "Advanced Options" and you CAN check the "Maximum memory" box. This will allocate all possible shared RAM to your video RAM. This is the BEST you can do

I checked this method and as I thought, it only decreases the amount of memory that is usable for the OS, and has nothing to do with the VRAM 
Listen, you don't have to push it so hard, if it can't be done, well.. I can live with that

I assume that would happen, since it pulls from the OS and locks that memory into video only, but then you say gfx still can't access it even then?

It's not about if it can be done or not, it's about learning how to do, which I want to learn, so trying to make progress but as you guess not much luck yet for me or the other guy I asked to look at this with me. Maybe we'll figure out sometime, if we do I'll let you know.
