Hi,
I have a SuperMicro C7X99-OCE-F mobo with a Xeon E5-2696v4 CPU. Although SM lists the Xeon E5-2600v4 series as compatible, I have never been able to get Win 7 x64 or the SM drivers to install or run without error. The error is usually BSOD. SM support has been limited to replacing the mobo. I don't think it's a defect issue but rather a design issue. I have seen reports of this issue in other forums, and the recommended solution is to disable C6 State Reporting and disable Spread Spectrum. In my BIOS I can disable C6 State Reporting but Spread Spectrum is not on a menu and SM support will not support my attempt to disable Spread Spectrum. So:
Can my BIOS be unlocked and/or modified to allow Spread Spectrum to be disabled, and/or any other changes that will result in a stable system?
This is my first post/request so let me know what I can do to resolve my issue.
Thanks!
