Working on an HP Spectre 13-aw0023dx. System had a BIOS password that the owner forgot. I made a dump of the BIOS with CH341A (attached below). Then tried flashing another BIOS which should have been from the same model. The system wouldn't post with that, so I flashed back the original BIOS dump (same one attached) and it still wouldn't post. I then ran the Winkey + B rollback feature and it went through the whole process of restoring the backup BIOS but at the end it shuts off. Sometimes after powering it back on it will continue to the second stage and go through flashing 1st and 2nd bootblocks, but then once that finishes it doesn't post again. The only way I can get any signs of life out of it after that is by again restoring the original BIOS dump, but it still doesn't post, I can only attempt the BIOS rollback feature again which ends with the same issue.
Hoping someone can explain what's going on and help me solve the issue.
In the past if I've got a dump of the original bios, I figured worst case restoring that will at least get the system back to base line, but in this case that didn't happen.
