TerraMaster F2-221 BIOS MOD
#1
Hi everyone, this is the first time I make a BIOS MOD.

This BIOS MOD has only been tested on the TerraMaster F2-221 model. It includes the following changes:
  • CSM Options enabled
  • boot order enabled
  • "samrt" typo fix
The reason why I made this mod was because I couldn't boot into Debian without first booting into the BIOS every time (because "boot order" was disabled).

INSTRUCTIONS:

In order to flash the BIOS, you'll need to download AFUDOS, boot into FreeDOS and finally run the following command:
AFUDOS.EXE BIOSMOD.ROM

I recommend making a backup before flashing the modified file.
You do everything at your own risk!

Enjoy! Smile

EDIT: there's a mistake in the readme. The BIOS MOD is for the F2-221, not the F2-210.

Hi acquamaster.

Many thanks for offering your work (and effort) to everyone.

Recently, I updated the BIOS of my F2-221 (purchased on 2020), trying to install TOS 6, since the original one wasn't compatible with this new version of Terramaster OS. Despite in general, everything seems to work fine, the second ethernet port remains disabled and Terramaster Support Team says it's due the newer BIOS (MAPL0304V22) is not compatible with old F2-221 hardware. Also, they claim to be unable to provide older BIOSes (shameful, from my point of view).

So, I don't have other option that renouncing to have two ethernet connections again, or trying to install a BIOS provided by other users.

That said, I'd like to know how similar are my device and yours (in order to estimate probability of sucess).

Mine had this characteristics (before the update):
- Aptio Setup Utility 2018 2.18.1263
- BIOS Vendor American Megatrends
- Core Version 5.12
- Compliancy UEFI 2.5; PI 1.4
- Build Date and Time 17/12/2018
(unfortunately, I don't know if it was MAPL0304V15, V16 or whatever, BIOS didn't show that info before)

Apart from this, ¿Have you checked complete compatibility and correct operation of the modified BIOS?¿Do you have the original file and could provide it (I don't really new boot order, since I'll use TOS 5 on this device)?

Many thanks in advance.
