Hi,
I've been trying to find a modded BIOS for the pre-built Packard Bell iPower x9810 PC I bought for my wife a couple of years ago. I want to try and overclock the CPU a little as she'd like to squeeze a little more performance out of the kit she has before eventually upgrading one or more of the components.
Unfortunately, a few hours searching the net has shown me that I should have been a little less lazy and built her a PC instead of taking the easy option in buying one 'off the shelf' - my search for a way to unlock the BIOS has yielded no results.
As far as I can make out the motherboard is a hamstrung NVIDIA nForce 750i SLi board with a restricted AMI BIOS. CPU-Z reports the version of BIOS currently being used is PBVG300.P0M, date 08/06/2008.
What really bugs me about all this is that the BIOS actually shows the options you want to tinker with to overclock but greys them out, thus preventing you from doing so. Its like putting your life savings in a cube of solid unbreakable glass; i.e. all you need is visible, but you have no way of accessing it!
Anyway, I'm getting off-topic (sorry!). Is there anyone who has managed to either successfully flash the board with a different, non-restricted BIOS or is there a modded version I can use?
If you need more information about the PC in question, please let me know and I'll do what I can to get it to you.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!
