I was able to flash Formula 350's version of your unlocked bios via floppy boot. So there are now a lot more options available.

Greeting Gurus,

I'm having fun revitalizing this venerable old computer. I'd like to try using the "new" 4000+ CPU. So if you want to flash my bios with some Frankenstein concoction of obscure micro code I'm game. I' m going to build a new computer anyway so depending on what happens it will be either alot sooner or, hopefully a little later.

Is it advisable to try the 4000+ with the old bios just to see what happens? Maybe it will work- other boards using the Sis760 have had success.

Patiently waiting for the cure or the hemlock for my trusty old Compaq!
