Hi guys,
Looking for some help or advice on whether it is possible to modify the BIOS of an HP 6730s to support any additional CPU's.
Mine currently has a T5870 which is 2Ghz, 2MB Cache, 800Mhz. I bought a T7300 stupidly thinking it would be a straight swap but the BIOS complained that the CPU stepping was unsupported.
Now before I chuck it back on eBay I thought I'd Google around and stumbled upon this very interesting website.
Do any of you techy geniuses have any knowledge on how it might be possible to add my CPU to the supported list?
It's an 'Insyde BIOS' and I have tried to Zip and attach it to this post, but don't seem to be able to get it down below 1,200k
Any help would be most appreciated. Cheers!
