Dell Dimension E520
#1
Hi all,

I'm doing this for a friend, he has a Dell Dimesion E520 and a Pentium D 3.0Gz dual-core. I noticed the previous thread on the Dell E520 but i was hoping that you would have some new information on it now. Please unlock overclocking on this bios. The bios can be downloaded from this page

Sorry but i cant mod this bios , its a special Dell Phoenix type which cannot be extracted out of its EXE.

you can try giving us a backup to open using this though:

Dell Dimension E520 use Dell BIOS. It's not standard Phoenix BIOS.

To extract the BIOS image from the EXE file, execute it in command prompt with writehdrfile parameter (better do this in secure environment like in VMware guest OS, to prevent accidentally flashing your computer BIOS with it):-
Code:
the_exe_file.exe /writehdrfile
The *.HDR (& also the *.EXE) file can be extracted using Phoenix SLIC Mod tool. The modules filename will be like XX_XX.ROM which confirmed it's a Dell BIOS.

If you use my modified BIOS image & you like it, please consider making a donation. Thank you very much. Smile

Hi! I have a Dell with the same board and would like to be able to overclock from the bios. I went ahead and got the HDR file from the EXE as instructed. I'm not sure where to go from here. Here is a link to the HDR file and a screen of the HDR file open in the SLIC tool, if that helps.
