[Removed, sp48125] HP DV6000 AMD mod still available???
#21
Well, I fixed the laptop by dismantling and heating the Nvidia chipset to above solder melting temp.
Put it back together and all works well, except for the Intel wireless adapter. The original Broadcom adapter now works as it should, but the Intel adapter is still not showing up at all. Not sure if this is a Whitelist issue.
I "hot swapped" the Broadcom out and the Intel in, while the laptop was in sleep mode, but on awakening, there was no adapter showing in "Devices" and no error messages either. The Intel just doesn't show up at all. I "hot swapped" the Broadcom back in and it begins running normally.
So, I can't get the Intel's "Device ID" that way, but this is the info on the card itself:

Intel model WM3945ABG MOW1
FCC ID: B94WM3945ABG
IC:466Q-WM3945AG
CT: GB8690AB6TZ89X
Intel SN: 277FA1496CXD26436008
N232
Rev: 0A

Do you think the Intel adapter can be recognized by this machine, with bios mods?

Where is the version with slic 2.1? Also I noticed that sp48125 is one of the only ones that does NOT include "nowhitelist"

Anyway, I found the original link and it's shared here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/20223-Remove-whitelist-check-add-ID-s-to-break-hardware-restrictions-mod-requests./page44?p=510245&highlight=#post510245

ok here's my experience

i put this bios into the unit and it didnt add the slic or whitelist until i used the HP tools to modify the bios from 'non vista' to 'vista'

also i installed an Intel 5100 which did the 104 error but after the fix it booted to windows and then bluescreened when i install the drive... this is the classic Intel not working with AMD thing

since then i have no non Intel full sized mini pci-e cards

i have some half sized cards but don't have the bracket for it to fit!

Thanks camiloml, your nowhitelist sp48125 BIOS file also worked on my HP dv9205ca. Tested with Dell 1490 (broadcom) and Intel 4965AGN wifi cards, and both worked with no issues on Win8 RC x64. Hope the Intel 6205 I ordered works just as well.

One thing though, I couldn't update using the flash utility that comes with your .exe. Came up with an error saying the BIOS was the same version as the current one so it would not flash (F.43).

Had to copy the BIOS file over to HP's original extracted sp48125 folder (C:\HP\swsetup\sp48125\) ,renamed to overwrite the original, and used that flash utility to flash to your modded BIOS.
