Hello,
After hours of searching, here I am. I'm a complete noob when it comes to this and I believe this forum is where I need to be in order to get my questions answered or pointed in the right direction.
If an abled member of this forum were to help me unlock the Advanced Menu would I then be allowed to add the new incoming hardware to the system??
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I have:
Touchsmart TM2-2100

-Bios revision: F.25
-Released: 02/18/2011
-Bios Type: Insyde

synopsis
I have purchased a 16GB kit of RAM and to my dismay found out that my laptop does not startup due to hardware change. Through searching I believe I found that the culprit is the limited amount of access I have in the BIOS that HP so "gracefully" implemented. I also have a 'new' Core i7 and a 750GB Solid State Hybrid drive currently in transit and I fear that it will also fall prey to HP's BIOS restrictions. If an abled member of this forum were to help me unlock the Advanced Menu would I then be allowed to add the new incoming hardware to the system??
or
Would I also need to have the whitelist removed? (not sure exactly what the whitelist holds or does)or
Do I need to just return the merchandise and forget about upgrading? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
