HP DV5000 (dv5283ea)
#21
haha ... sure it is ... i actualy fucked up my bios ... i used to work at a computer service and i resolderd another chip .... and i think the only upgrade would be with a 7600 go... and u have to get it from a broken board from a dv8000 probably... and look for the diference in schematic Tongue and modify your board... i cant be asked for this upgrade my board was heated so many times now .... i'll live it alone but im thinkin to modify the case and add some speakers 2 extra speakers ... same as these...

Hi,

First, and not meaning to sound sycophantic, thanks for all your efforts in making this resource available.

Anyway, I've just downloaded and applied the content of "sp37159_NWL_ByCamiloml.exe" from the "whitelists" folder to an HP Pavilion dv8219ea and, while the BIOS flash was successful, the replacement WLAN card is still blacklisted.

Is there a further step I need to take? The replacement card in question is a SparkLAN WPEA-110N if that helps.

Cheers,
YS

Hi again,

Thanks to TheWiz for moving my post to this thread - I'd searched the forum for variations of the laptop model, but not the SoftPaq number... *slaps forehead*

Anyway, the white-listing now works, and a much better WLAN NIC is in place, so many thanks.

One minor point - possibly both churlish and off-topic - I applied the BIOS file "Bios_SLIC21+video" hoping for an entirely unexpected 50Mhz bump in the video chip-set speed, but GPU-Z is still reporting 400Mhz.

Oh, one final thing - the BIOS update also revealed that the laptop had BlueTooth all along, and it's now working!

Many thanks,
YS
