Pretty much all HP BIOS are digitally siigned, change even a bit and it most likely won't flash, at least not with normal tools. And if it flashes it will pretty much in every case end in a semi-brick.
There might be some possibilities to flash it, but pretty much no user would risk a complete brick.
The last couple of HP BIOS which I modified for some users didn't flash, and no one wanted to risk a complete brick, so it's just wasted time. And yes, it is pretty time-consuming and requires a bit more than just a mouse click.
If I had an HP system I could test some stuff myself, I can always recover, but I don't have access to such an HP system.
