Celeron 766 on MSI 6117 i440LX Motherboard
#1
Hi, i have an MSI 6117 motherboard, it has an intel 440LX chipset (66Mhz max FSB). I flashed the last Award Bios (v2.5) (patched, without 32GB HDD limit, it can be downloaded here)
On MSI website, there is also an AMI version of BIOS (v2.0) (This BIOS have the 32GB max bug, i haven't found a patched version of this...)
The original versions of the two bioses can be downloaded here

I want to install the Celeron 766 (SL4QF) that according to this list is the best processor with 66Mhz FSB.
Currently, I have a Celeron 533 (SL3FZ) that is correctly recognized by Award and AMI Bios too.
When I install the Celeron 766, the system boot but:
with Award Bios (original and patched version, it is the same) the system recognize the processor as a "-MMX CPU at 98Mhz"
with Ami Bios the system recognize the processor as a "Pentium III at 600Mhz"
Is there a way to add processor support to Award or Ami Bios?
I prefer to have a Bios without 32GB limit, because i have a bigger HDD on this machine.
Little OT: the patched BIOS have however a 128GB limit, i want to install a 160GB HDD, is it possible to break the 128GB limit?
Sorry for my bad english, but it isn't my own language... Confused
Thanks. Big Grin
Edit: i have another motherboard, Asus P2B (Slot1, chipset Intel 440BX) with the last Award bios, it recognize all processor, even Celeron 766 and P3. If this Bios can help you to find a solution, you can download it here.

Has anyone tried to modify my bios? I need a little more power on this machine that can only give me the Celly 766 instead of 533 Undecided

Bump, I'm still looking for a solution for my beloved motherboard Sad
I think (hope) that it isn't very difficult to find a solution. It's an old and simple BIOS, that was already modded by someone (removing the 32GB HDD size limit).
Some old link I previously posted are offline now, so: you can find my motherboard's BIOS here and you can find a good donor BIOS (I think) here.
The donor bios I linked is a bios from an Asus P2B.
Thanks in advance.

Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with current CPU.
I need also a screenshot of regedit with expanded key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0
