Since I knew about extra CPU core in my PC executing closed firmware and having access to all PC resources, I wish to disable it completely.
I have MSI Z87 motherboard. Have bios file, and FITC 9.x.
I load bios file into FITC and see in ME region configuration that Intel standard manageablity is not disabled.
spsInfoWin64.exe confirms that ME engine is running.
What i'd like to do is to change ME region->Configuration->Features supported->Enable intel standard manageablity to "NO".
If it can at least disable execution of BIOS portion of ME code, it would be very good.
But there's only one chance. Brick or not brick.
First experiment i would do is repacking original bios image with FITC. No error, outimage.bin is composed ok.
This way I can confirm if FITC do everything right if board does not brick.
Second step is to change desired disable AMT bit and flash that image.
If board does not brick it means that it can live without AMT.
So, questions is :
Have anyone done something similar ?
If it leads to brick, I want to know it before I do brick myself
