Im running windows 10 on it and need to change the controller from ide to sata for a new ssd

Although this is for a HP DV6 2164SL not a dv6 2110ax like my lappy is

(I searched pretty hard and couldnt find a link that either was dead or the website doesnt exsist anymore...)

I also tried searching how to mod it myself but looks a bit like id brick my computer...

alternativly is there a way for me to change this setting without actually entering bios? as i understand it the option is just hidden not turned off as such.... cheers

All the links that I found long ago became broken, so I had to repeat the already existing but now inaccessible BIOS modification. What's changed: due to the inability to place all the menu tabs at the top at once, Security and Diagnostics were replaced as the most useless ones with Power and Advanced, the whitelist check was deactivated.
You need to unpack the archive, run the executable file and follow the steps of the installer.
Not tested: sp47531_NWL_UlkdMenus.zip
