Hallo everyone,
I've changed the wifi mini pcie card in my acer aspire 5612awlmi (5610 family) from intel 3945abg to intel 6205.
At first boot, windows says that can't start the device (error code 10) and the wifi hardware switch was disabled and turned off. I've taped the card's pin 20 to set always on the wifi and now if i boot a live cd (kaspersky rescue disk) the card works properly and connects (browsing, updating definitions...), but windows (tried with win7 32 bit & win8.1 64 bit) still can't start the device.
I know that bios is not whitelisted, but i think now is somthing about "low-level-software-side problem" (the hardware block is removed, it works with liveOS but windows can't start the device even formatting and changing OS type & version).
I've read something about resetting BIOS and/or "dmi data pool"...I don't know what it is! I've flashed bios (v3.60 with the same v3.60), but nothing happened.
Am I missing something?
Someone can help me with any information/suggestion?
Is there any chance to reset BIOS and/or dmi data pool without "detonate" the notebook to toggle the cmos battery?
Thanks for your help
